ALFRED NZO DISTRICT SANITATION BACKLOG ERADICATION PROGRAMME

Amanz’ abantu Services was appointed through open public tender in October 2009 as the Professional Service Provider (PSP) to the Alfred Nzo District Municipality (ANDM) to undertake the eradication of the sanitation backlog programme within its municipal borders. The estimated contract value for the period to June 2012 is R130 million.

THE BoTT PROGRAMME

The Build Operate Train and Transfer (BoTT) approach is a way of implementing projects through the use of a management contract.  It is a partnership between the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (DWAF) and private sector consortia or groups, called Programme Implementing Agent (PIA), with the involvement of the local community and local authorities.

CALA ELLIOT 1289 HOUSING PROJECT

In 2010 the Department of Human Settlements appointed 26 Emerging Contractors to complete 1289 houses, who were to be project managed the PRT ( Professional Regional Team) which appointed Amanz’ abantu to do the Project Management.

INTSIKA YETHU SANITATION PROJECT & TRAINING OF EPWP CONTRACTORS

Amanz’ abantu assisted the Chris Hani District Municipality in submitting an application through the Municipal Infrastructure Grant programme which was approved for the value of R25.3 million. The Chris Hani District Municipality appointed Amanz’ abantu as the civil engineering consultant for the project.

TEKO SPRING 110 HOUSING PROJECT

In July 2010 the ADM appointed Amanz’abantu Services to construct only 110 new houses including a contingency for some rectification work. The appointment (Contract Value) was for R12 million out of a Tender Sum of R35 million.
